Caspian tubenose goby, Proterorhinus semipellucidus , is a species of fish in the family Gobiidae, order Perciformes.

It inhabits the fresh waters of the Caspian Sea basin[1] and is common in the lower stream of the Volga River.[2]

The species is mentioned as non-indigenous in the Middle and Upper Volga River, Moscow River, several dam reservoirs of the Volga basin,[3] some cases are registered in middle Don River.[4] The tubenose goby found in the lower Neva and Gulf of Finland, described as Proterorhinus marmoratus, probably also the Caspian tubenose goby introduced from the Volga basin.[5] The Caspian Tubenose goby is only representative of Ponto-Caspian fauna, which crossed 56° N.[6]
